Adult examinations will be conducted with a minimum of two Technical Committee members, one of whom must be the Chief Instructor (or Shidoin for Aikido Mugenami Affiliates). In the event of an unexpected absence of the Chief Instructor (or Shidoin), a designee may oversee examinations in their place. Pass/fail determination will be by recommendation of the presiding Technical Committee members.

In the event an adult test candidate does not receive a pass recommendation, the candidate may request a retest to be taken within one month of the original test date. During the retest, clear demonstration of missed rank requirements must be demonstrated first, after which the entire examination will be redone.
